Middle/Senior Remote Python, Django Developer

VO Group is a leading Belgian company active in the communication field. To strengthen its position, we created a resource centre called Lab that gives our clients a range of tools to co-create innovative, long-lasting communication solutions: from a structure and setting that foster collective intelligence, to internal and external experts and inspiring documentation.

We are developing a digital solution to enhance collaboration into the Lab, combining user interaction and match-making algorithm.

This is for you:

Your responsibilities

• Define together with the team leader the general architecture of the models in the platform
• Design and implementation of a low-latency, high-availability, and performant application
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Work in combination with front-end developer for the integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Integration of data storage solution (may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.)

Your knowledge and experience

• Expert in Python (minimum 5 years), with knowledge of at least one Python web framework (such as Django)
• Good understanding of front-end technologies, such as React JS
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple system, server and environments
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Strong unit test and debugging skill
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git)

• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in French or Dutch
• You are a team player

• You are not afraid of a challenge and learning new technologies
• You have a drive for all phases of the software development process: from analysis, requirements, and design over implementation to test and release
• You are eager to dive deep into our customer’s world to enable the creation of the best application possible
